I think a new mat and frame (just simple black) would help and then make it a bedroom or hallway picture. I love that you said you doubted it was worth something-Ha!
My guess is a black mat and frame will make it look really good. Just be glad he's not attached to the frame! We (and I don't mean I) have two old family pictures that would LOVE new frames. Unfortunately, someone is also very attached to the not-subtle frames! :)
I was born and raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and LOVE it there! I went to Ole Miss for 2 years, and finished at Southern Miss. After Hurricane Katrina I moved to Birmingham, AL. I have a precious shihtzu Lilly, and married the man of my dreams, Rick, August 21, 2010. I have the best frinds anyone could ask for, all over the country, and I keep in touch with them all. I have 2 brothers that crack me up everytime I talk to them. My parents live in Little Rock, and are the most wonderful parents ever! Last but not least, I am a DIE HARD NEW ORLEANS SAINTS FAN!!!! WHO DAT!!! Life is good.

Old stuff rules.. The present is lame. ;-)
Keep it, dress it up and hang it.

I think you might could keep the matte & just get a new thick black Or mahogany/cherry frame to modernize!
Blake loves that picture. If you get rid of it, send it Blake's way.
