Our sweet baby shihtzu Lilly turned 6 last Saturday, October, 23!!! She is so much fun, so loving, & adorable. We love her so much (although I am pretty sure she loves Rick more than me these days). HAPPY BIRTHDAY LILLY DUNN-MCKIBBIN (yes she changed her name too).
Then this morning, after I took Lilly in to wake Rick up, I heard in a strange voice "What's she doing?" I walked in to find this:
She LOVES him! She wakes him up with kisses every morning, and if she's not in the bed, he refuses to get up until I get her. I am pretty sure it is just an excuse for a little more sleep. So that's Lilly Bears summer cut! Happy Memorial Day weekend all!

Rick would throw snowballs, Lilly chased them, tried to carry them around as long as possible, then sneezed from a nose full of snow. She had so much fun. WE ALL LOVED SNOW DAY!!!!

Rick gave me a nice thumbs up when he busted me taking pics of him on his raft.
Lilly also LOVED the beach! She even made a new friend, a ghost crab. She chased it, tossed it around, and barked at it, for about 20 min until the crab escaped into the water. Then she ran up and down the shore looking for it. 
The first morning she was so excited she woke me up at 6am to go to the beach. So this pic was bright and early. She for some reason comes back from the beach with a face full of sand.
We also rented a boat and spent our last day at crab island.
It was a FABULOUS weekend, and a GREAT start to my birthday week/month. 
So later that day we tried to teach Lil to sit like a human. We really want her to sit and watch TV with us like this.
After all that, she needed a nap. When I started taking pics, she was less than thrilled! She really thinks she is the boss.
My dear friend Anna was in town this weekend from Pascagoula. She had a baby shower Saturday and stayed with us that night. While Rick went to a guys night, Anna and I had our own little girls night. We went to dinner @ Bottega Cafe for some yummy drinks and most fabulous food. Anna really liked her Appletini.
I was more excited about the food!!!
Then we went to Anna's old stomping ground Innisfree. Her face just lit up when we walked in. I think she spent most of her time in Bham in Innisfree when she lived here.
Lilly also REALLY enjoyed Anna's visit. She followed her around all weekend, even slept with her. TRADER! As you can see, Lilly spent most her her time in Anna's lap.
So we had an entertaining Friday and Saturday. It was GREAT to see Anna, just when I needed a friend. Perfect timing ANC, I LOVE YOU!
This is how she rides in the 4Runner. She loves just looking out the back window with the wind blowing in her hair. So strange.
Meet Emma, she has recently found a home with a family friend of ours. A few weeks ago when Lilly and I were in Destin, a family friend of ours came to stay with us, and just LOVED little Lilly. The week after the trip, she went home and found miss Emma. This is the 2nd Shihtzu that has found a home because of my baby Lilly. I know I am a little partial, but Lilly is a VERY laid back dog, eats when she feels like it, lets you know when she needs to go out, doesn't chew on anything, doesn't bark much, and is so cute it hurts, what more could you ask for? So I have decided she is the local marketing rep for the shihtzu breed.
After dinner we played CRANIUM! It was SO much fun, and when the girls were about to win, the guys wanted to start over. Typical. The funniest part of this was probably Dusty acting like a tornado or Shirley Temple, both had us crying we were laughing so hard. 
In the end, the guys won. The second game that is, after starting over when we were winning. So here is the victory pic.
Cameron even got into the game for a little while.
Friday on Rick's first Friday off with his new 4 day work week, he tilled the back yard, planted new grass and covered it with straw. As you can see Lilly likes her new back yard. He worked his behind off and says we should see grass in about a week. Lilly is very interested in this "straw" stuff, and just walks around sniffing it all the time. I will post pics when the grass comes in. 
Rick was raking the yard yesterday, and I went inside to take a shower leaving him in charge of keeping an eye on Lilly. I was in my room and heard him yelling her name. I looked out the window and saw this. It cracked me up!!!

I went to visit Lilly @ the hospital today, and they said she could come home!!! I can tell she feels so much better, her tail was wagging, and she was ready to GO! The vet said you can go ahead and take her because she is not happy in that kennel. She has been sleeping all day, and I just let her out to chase a few chipmunks. We have a couple pills to take and we shall see how that goes tonight, not to mention the yuck can dog food. So Miss Lilly is on the mend.
