DMB @ Oak Mountain

Let me start by saying Dave Matthews Band is my favorite band of all time! I LOVE them!!!! So for Valentines day Rick got me tickets to go see them at Oak Mountain here in Bham. At the time I was excited, but last night at the show I was ESTATIC!!!! I had a BLAST! There was a big crew here from Southern Miss, Tom and Rachael went with us, Will came from Hattiesburg to stay with us, what a night! One of my favorite college friends, Chris McDonald, was in town, love him! The show was AWESOME! I mean tailgating, old friends, new friends, the most fabulous boyfriend ever, and my favorite band of all time, what more could I ask for? Oh, and perfect weather! I mean I was FIRED up, so excited, don't think I stopped smiling all night. Here are the pics:

R.I.P. LeRoi Moore

We are deeply saddened that LeRoi Moore, saxophonist and founding member of Dave Matthews Band, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, August 19, 2008, at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles from sudden complications stemming from his June ATV accident on his farm near Charlottesville, Virginia. LeRoi had recently returned to his Los Angeles home to begin an intensive physical rehabilitation program.

Sad Sad Sad news! For those that don't know I am a HUGE Dave Matthews Band fan and they are BY FAR MY FAV! This upsets me.

City Stages Saturday

Day 2....We headed downtown around 3 to meet some of Rick's friends at Metro Bistro before heading to CS. Had a few and let Rick call everyone he knew to see what the "radar" looked like. Then made the decision to battle the weather. We started at Blind Melon, which I must say was pretty AWESOME! We had a little sprinkle, but nothing big. Then we heard North Mississippi Allstars, Buddy Guy, and finally Ben Harper. All were pretty good, I was not impressed by ole Benny Harper, and that was SO SO SO PACKED! I mean seriously, like sardines! It was a GREAT day! I had a BLAST! Rick was finally back in town after being gone Monday - Saturday, Fancy was there, GREAT music, good friends, PERFECT! Great way to end my Fancy's trip, and my unemployment!

City Stages Friday

Fancy and I started the night at Galactic, where we met up with Rachel & Jason Waters, along with the rest of the crew. Pretty good show....
The it was on to Old Crow Medicine Show, I loved this! Fancy decided to double fist. One was hot and one was cold, so she would rotate.......or just mix them.
Then it was back to the Miller Lite Stage for The Roots, where we played with Dusty & Jess, The Dunn's, & Archie. This was REALLY FUN!
A stop by a food vendor to get Fancy some cheese fries, but oh wait, they were out of cheese! She was DEVASTATED! Then it was home for frozen pizza, Cheetos, and a bagel! What a combo! End day 1.

New Jack Johnson CD

I got the new Jack Johnson CD from Tim at my office the same time I got Ben Harper, but I liked BH so much I didn't give JJ a chance! Well now I have given ole Jack a listen, and it is GOOD! The new album is called "Sleeping Through The Static". I think the Ben Harper one is better, mostly because I think BH was more what I was into at the time, but Kelly thinks the Jack album is better. So check it out and let me know what you think!

BEN HARPER

My friend Tim at work gave me the new Ben Harper CD, Lifeline, and it is GREAT! he gave it to me last week before I headed to Mississip, and I listened to it the entire trip. I LOVE IT! It is a great CD to get you read for the warm weather I hope is here to stay. Laid back sittin on your porch music. I strongly suggest everyone check it out. ENJOY, and let me know what you think. Blind Melon in Nashville

We went to see Blind Melon at the Cannery in Nashville Friday. It was a great show, and the new lead singer is fabulous! They played my class song from 1997, "Change". I LOVED IT!
